Third Week: Hardships behind those sweet smiles

July 21, 2014 (Monday)---Day 10

It was the first day that was going to OJT again after the typhoon Glenda. Once I arrived at the office I spotted the effect of typhoon Glenda, the papers that we secured were all soaked with water. The janitors are already cleaning the office. Ma’am Amy also arrived and was shocked at the moment she saw the situation of the office. One by one the employees arrived and were surprised at the condition of the office. Everyone helped in cleaning the office. The documents that were drenched were placed outside of the office.

After cleaning everyone takes a rest due to exhaustion and spend the rest of the day in a non-stop conversation.

July 22, 2014 (Tuesday)---Day 11

Ate Jinky asked us to correct the information that the SPES filled up especially those who are assigned in Tiwi, Libon, Polangui and other municipalities. We changed the data’s that they inputted in their forms because it was not appropriate according to the DOLE. The Contract also was not approved due to incorrect records that were written.

July 23, 2014 (Wednesday)---Day 12

The moment I arrived at the office Ma’am Amy and Ma’am Lily was already at the office talking about the PMA stuff.
Ma’am Sonia requested us to go to the accounting office and signed her papers. We went to the capitol but we do not know where the accounting office is. Minutes after searching, we finally found the office. We gave to them the papers and waited for it but they told us they we have to come back at 3:00 o’clock because the person who must signed was not at the office at that time and might come back at 3:00 o’clock. We told Ma’am Siapno that we will come to accounting office to get her documents.
Ma’am Lily asked us to encode the expenses of the office.

July 24, 2014 (Thursday)---Day 13

Ma’am Arispe asked us to make her the Power Point presentation entitled as Records Management. Like what we do in Ma’am Lily’s presentation we divided it in 3 portions. Each of us focused in doing our assigned task. When we all finished the power point we combined it and as usual Mira would be the one to design the presentation.
A minute after finishing the presentation Ma’am Amy asked me to submit some papers to Ma’am Siapno.

July 25, 2014 (Friday)---Day 14

Every one in the office just spent the day in discussing different issues and merely talking about their personal problems. Since the employees are just chatting we decided to watch one of the variety shows in Korea which is the Running Man.

REFLECTION: Everyone at the office help each other in accomplishing assigned task. there were times that the employees just spend their days in chatting to each other but once they have given a task/ work to do they would accomplish it first before doing another things.

Preparation doesn't assures harm, it assures safety.

July 14, 2014 (Monday)---Day 9

Sir Ely requested us to arrange the horde of papers at his table. He also told us not to throw any paper instead label it as scratch for the reason that they can still used it in the future. It is really a bunch of papers. After organizing and labelling the papers we put it in a box where it could easily be found.
We went first to the DOLE to submit the papers of the SPES who have not yet completed their requirements.
Ma’am Lily instructed us to put the all the papers on one side where it could not be soaked with water. After finishing the clusters of papers we arrange the things in the office for it not to be drenched with water due to Typhoon Glenda. After arranging and organizing the documents and furniture's at the office we took some pictures of us to show our temporary place at the office where our table was taken away.

Before leaving at the office we double check all the equipments, the papers and important documents are certainly at the safest place at the office.

REFLECTION:
The employees just not throw used papers instead they recycled it. They find an alternative way to used it again.

Second Week: Coping with the new environment

July 7, 2014 (Monday)---Day 4

The employees were very busy doing their works. Ma’am Siapno, one of the employees that are assigned in the TLDC office, requested us to photocopy her documents. At that time we do not still know where the photocopier was. So, we just look for it outside the compound. Right away we found it. Sir Ely asked us to organized some of the files in the office. There were a lot of papers in the office and it looks like a mess.

July 8, 2014 (Tuesday)---Day 5

Ma’am Siapno asked us to photocopy her ID and Ma’am Lily heard it, and she asked us also to photocopy her check since we’re just going to the photocopier. After a few minutes we went back to the office. We just sat at our table the whole afternoon because there was nothing to do and they were not also asking us to do something.

July 9, 2014 (Wednesday)---Day 6

Ma’am Lily asked us to do the PowerPoint presentation regarding the Parliamentary Procedures because she needs it by tomorrow. She gave the folder to Mira. We decided to divide the papers to finish early. Every one of us was very busy encoding the chapter that was distributed to us.
Upon finishing the given task to each other we combined the presentation and Mira added some design and organized the font style and size in all sides to make it uniform.

July 10, 2014 (Thursday)---Day 7

We went to the ACEMPC office at the capitol and asked Kuya Benz, one of the employees in the ACEMPC; to scan the documents that Ma’am Lily hand over to us. He told us that his scanner is just for short documents only. I just told her to scan it, though some of the data might be removed and I will just inform Ma’am Lily.
When I handed the documents to Ma’am Lily I told her that some of the data were removed because the scanner was just for short papers. She told us that it is all right as long as the body of the letter was not damaged.

July 11, 2014 (Friday)---Day 8

When I arrived at the office Ma’am Amy was already arranging the Budiao Hall. As soon as I placed my bag at our table, I immediately proceeded to the hall. I helped Ma’am Amy arranging the chairs. She told me that Watson would conduct a job hiring at the hall.
Ma’am Siapno told me to get some of the chairs and table at the office and bring it to the hall. She also told me to remove the chairs that are not presentable and placed it on the side and hide it because it was mucky.

At around 9:00 o’clock in the morning the representative of Watson arrived and directly proceeded to the hall to start the job hiring.  The job hiring was successful since there are a lot of applicants. The representative of Watson was very happy and leaves the office with a great smile.

Reflection: Not all the times they were busy doing their own office works on the contrary there are also times that they are also lacking in workloads. Sometimes even though there are a lot of works to be done however when everyone is helping each other it is possible to finish it faster and accomplish it on time. Each time a job hiring became a success all the employees at the PESO also feels great and enormous amount of happiness.

The First Three Days: Exciting Simple Activities

July 2, 2014 (Wednesday)---Day 1

It was the first day of our OJT in PESO. We were excited but a bit nervous as well. We decided to wait each other at the front of the office and went to the office together. When we arrived at the office Sir Ely, one of the employee, entertained us and guided us to our seats and told us that he has some work to do first. Upon finishing his work, he called us and told us to go to the Budiao Hall. We followed him with full of curiosity. We thought that he has something for us to do but we were wrong because he called us for the orientation before starting our OJT.

Sir Ely discussed to us the organizational chart in the office, the employees and their duties and responsibilities. He also talked about the expectation of their office to us and how to behave during in the office, the dos and don’ts. He also told us that it is not important to wear our school uniform at all times, as long as we are all the same, if one wears uniform, others also needs to wear uniform. After the orientation, we proceed to the office and Sir Ely immediately gave to us our first work.
He handed us a file of papers and told us to arrange the papers according to their classification. He also asked us to summarize the papers. All the papers that Sir Ely handed to us were the requirements of all the SPES. When we were doing our work we encounter the names of our friends in files.  Almost all the papers that we have sorted out were the DTR, accomplishment report, and other documents regarding to the SPES applicants.

We haven’t notice the time due to our work until Ma’am Amy, one of the employee in PESO, told us to take our lunch first and we were shock that its already 12 o’clock. And we went out to take our lunch.
After lunch, right away we proceeded to our table and start doing our unfinished work. The whole afternoon was just spent doing the classification and summarization of the papers. We just notice that it’s already 5 o’clock and it’s time to go home. We told Sir Ely that we haven’t finished yet our work and we will just continue it by tomorrow.

July 3, 2014 (Thursday)---Day 2

It would be the second day of our OJT and I felt less nervous than yesterday. As we told to Sir Ely yesterday, we continue doing our work. There are still a lot of papers to do. When Sir Ely arrived at the office he gave us additional task papers to work with. He added papers of the SPES including their DOLE forms. He also told us to summarize and classify it.
We spent the day productively and we were busy accomplishing the tasks that were assigned to us. We have finished our job before living the office at the afternoon.

July 4, 2014 (Friday)---Day 3
I arrived at the office exactly at 8 o’clock in the morning. Sir Jun was already at the office doing his office works. I just sat at our table waiting for the other employees to arrive.
When Mira arrived we talked about some stuffs due to the reason that we do not have anything to do that time. All of a sudden, Ate Jessica, one of the employee in the PESO; approach us and asked us to go to the capitol at the governor’s office. We told her that we do not know where the governor’s office is located at the capitol. She gave us direction and told us that it is just in the first floor at the right wing of the capitol.
Mira and I proceeded to the capitol and look for the governor’s office and immediately found it. As soon as we entered in the office, one of the employees near the door entertained us. I told her that we came from the PCEDO office and handed to her the documents to be faxed. She immediately faxes the documents. Mira and I went back to the office.
Leah told Sir Ely that we cannot be at the office at the afternoon because we would be attending a meeting at our school.
